Storytime @ North Shelby Library

Today was our second day to visit the Baby Tales Story time at North Shelby Library. Carson loves the songs, movement, and for the most part shows an interest in books.  They also have toys laid out on the floor for the babies to explore with.  Although he isn't a crawler yet, I love that he can watch the other babies crawl.  Today he made a small attempt to crawl but didn't make it very far.  The quality of the picture isn't great since it was with my IPhone.  :)  I can't believe how fast he is growing up!! Tear!

My 1st Mother's Day!!

What a special day!! This morning I was served breakfast in bed by the 2 special men in my life! It was such a sweet day. What an incredible journey the past 7 months have been as I have become a mommy.  It is truly the most amazing gift ever! More pictures and competed post to come soon!

First Babysitter

It's so hard to imagine that my baby is actually old enough to now be left with a babysitter!  Or so we thought! This past weekend Korey and I had an event to attend and were beyond excited to get dressed up and have a night out.  Little did we know that this is when we would learn that Carson is already having some major separation anxiety.  After a few small incidences that occurred the week before, I was a bit worried about leaving him; but then thought how hard could it be.  All he has to do is take his bottle and go to sleep.  Well.... not so much!  Needless to say we were back home in 2 hours.  Our precious babysitter Emily will probably never come back again! Regardless, I was pleased at how my "babysitter guide" turned out.  Guess I'll be putting it away for awhile until we are ready to try again.

On Loan from Above

Last Sunday was a such a sweet day for us as we had Carson dedicated at church. We have been so blessed by The Church of the Highlands over the past year and can't wait to be able to let Carson experience the incredible children's ministry there.

This is a song that I found during my pregnancy that brought me to tears each time I heard it.  I played it for Carson along with a few other songs mostly at night when I laid down.  I loved feeling his kicks and punches and often these would come when I played him music.  Now that he is here the song is so real to me... and especially on days like this. The lyrics are an amazing prayer that I pray over him at night and are a great reminder to the truth that as Carson rests in God's care, we will rest too; knowing that Jesus is watching over him all the days of his life! 2 months old!

I can't believe Carson is two months old! When I think back on that precious day in the hospital I couldn't have imagined this time would come so quickly. He has made so many milestones in the second month.  The best one is that he perfected his sleep schedule to 8-12 hours a night!!  We don't tell many people this because we realize we are the lucky ones.  :)  He loves to smile and laugh!! My favorite time of the day is when he wakes up cooing in his bed each morning.  When he sees me come over to pick him up he flashes the sweetest, biggest smile ever! It melts my heart over and over again. He still LOVES the swaddle and won't sleep without it.  I realize this may mean some restless nights ahead when I start weaning him of it but right now I still love my little burrito!  So until he shows me that he is ready.... we will swaddle on!  :)
